Irving Jordahl: Wow, you're completely wrong in just about every possible way here. Public domain does not refer to things that are distributed to the public. CBS owns the rights to Miami CSI and it is definitely NOT public domain. It won't be public domain for many, many more years.Cable is not public. You pay for the service, right?
Queenie Ruthers: Public cable television station pay for the right to broadcast these shows. The shows themselves are copyrighted, so may not be downloaded legally. You have been warned once by your ISP - a second offense could terminate your account or lead to prosecution. Others have been prosecuted without warnings.
Ronnie Sardi: "Public domain tv" does not mean anything. And your ISP did not say that you could not download it, just that you cannot share it. You are allowed to watch it, record it for YOUR personal use and that is about it.
Derrick Smsith: Just because a show is on public cable television does not mean i! t is public domain. There is still a copyright on it, and someone owns that copyright. And it is illegal to distribute without permission.Shows that are truly public domain (such as "Victory at Sea" from 1952-1953) are legal to download and distribute. But "CSI: Miami" is no where close to being in the public domain. It still has a long, long life ahead of itself, and lots of money to be made for the owners of the show.*EDIT* - If you are referring to the tax in Canada, my understanding is that it is only for MUSIC, not video downloads. And even then, it is still illegal to distribute, which just about all (if not all) P2P software programs do as soon as you start to download....Show more
Anibal Katayama: Virtually no TV show is in the public domain and certainly not CSI: Miami. Just because they didn't charge you to watch it on a network doesn't mean it is free. It is paid for by advertisements. You are in clear violation of copyright laws.
Bianca Lannier: { TO ! line the pockets of such bankster }}} got to stop hitting subm! it button before reading LOL
Forest Duttinger: WOW fast and furious responces LOL. I was also wondering what is the "Levy taxes" added to ALL blank CD's and DVD;s for then. the line the pockeks of such banlers and hollyweird jerks who say that the publicly air TV showes that come into our homes are not ours even after paying for it.****** Stepping down from my soap box ****** 8-)
